Proven Leadership, Practical Solutions.
I'm running for re-election to continue our progress with responsible financial oversight, enhanced community life, and a clear vision for Easttown's future.
My Commitment: A Hands-On Approach to Serving Easttown
Welcome to my campaign website! I'm Michael Wacey, and I'm running for re-election as your Township Supervisor. Over the next several weeks, I look forward to sharing my record of accomplishments and my vision for the future of Easttown. But first, I want to reintroduce myself and the principles that guide my service to this community we all call home.
For me, being a supervisor is about more than just attending meetings. It’s about a deep, hands-on commitment to understanding the needs of our township and its residents. It's about rolling up my sleeves to learn the intricacies of the services we rely on daily. That’s why I’ve made it a priority to go beyond the boardroom, participating in a ride-along with our police to better understand their challenges on the ground and taking the time to learn the complexities of our sewer systems to grasp our infrastructure needs firsthand. These experiences provide the real-world knowledge necessary to make informed decisions that benefit our entire community.
My service is guided by a core belief in effective, efficient, and transparent governance. A practical example of this is my initiative to implement a Consent Agenda for our board meetings. This simple change streamlines our processes, allowing us to dedicate more time to the significant issues facing our township. It's a small adjustment that has a big impact on the productivity of our local government.
I also believe that effective leadership means representing Easttown's interests beyond our borders. By attending the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors (PSATS) Conference and serving on the PSATS Resolutions Committee, I am actively working to bring statewide best practices and a stronger voice back to our community, ensuring that Easttown is at the forefront of innovative and effective local governance.
In today's digital age, transparency and accessibility are more important than ever. I am proud to have championed the successful implementation of online and recorded meetings, making it easier for every resident to stay informed and engaged with our work. Paired with this is my push for a standardized email signature for all township communications—a small but vital step to enhance professionalism and clarity.
The principles and experiences I've shared here lay the groundwork for the progress we have made and the future we can build together. In the coming weeks, I will detail my specific accomplishments in strengthening our financial health, enhancing our community life, protecting our environment, and investing in our public safety. These achievements are the direct result of the dedicated, hands-on approach I have outlined.
Thank you for visiting, and I encourage you to explore the website to learn more about my record and my vision for Easttown. I look forward to continuing this conversation with you.
A Record of Accomplishment (2020 - Present)
Since 2020, I have worked to deliver practical solutions and positive results for Easttown. My focus has been on strengthening our finances, enhancing our quality of life, protecting our environment, and investing in the core services that keep our community safe and running smoothly. I am proud to have worked collaboratively with the Board of Supervisors, township staff, and engaged residents to achieve these goals.
Strengthening Our Financial Health & Oversight
Established the Resident Finance Committee: To bring more expertise and transparency to our budget, I spearheaded the creation of the township's first resident-led Finance Committee.
Hired a New Independent Auditor: I led the effort to hire a new auditing firm, ensuring a fresh and objective review of our township's finances to build public trust and accountability.
Successfully Implemented the EIT (Earned Income Tax): After a previous attempt fell short, I successfully worked to implement the EIT in 2024. This crucial step diversifies our revenue, funds essential services, and helps stabilize the tax base for the long term.
Enhancing Community Life & Recreation
Launched Concerts in the Park: I initiated and championed our popular "Concerts in the Park" series, a free and accessible event that brings our community together and enhances our local quality of life.
Upgraded Hilltop Park with New Exercise Stations: To promote a healthier community, I supported the installation of new exercise stations at Hilltop Park, making our public spaces more vibrant and functional for residents.
Began Modernizing Our Open Space Plan: I was instrumental in updating our township's 1992 Recreation, Environment, and Open Space Plan, creating a modern roadmap to preserve and enhance our natural assets for generations to come.
Building a Greener & More Modern Easttown
Created the Environmental Advisory Council (EAC): I championed the establishment of the EAC, a dedicated group of resident experts who advise the township on key environmental challenges and opportunities.
Championed Energy-Efficient LED Streetlights: I was a driving force behind the transition to modern LED streetlights, a move that improves visibility and safety while saving the township money on energy costs every month.
Investing in Public Safety & Effective Governance
Transitioned to an All Full-Time Police Force: I successfully advocated for transitioning our police department to a fully full-time officer model, ensuring a more consistent, dedicated, and professional force to protect our community.
Streamlined Board of Supervisors Meetings: To make our government more efficient, I implemented a consent agenda for our meetings, which allows the Board to focus its time on the most significant issues facing our township.
Improved Professionalism and Communication: I oversaw the standardization of township email signatures to ensure a consistent and professional image in all public communications.
My Vision for Easttown's Future
"My record of accomplishment shows what we can achieve with practical leadership and a clear focus on results. But our work isn’t done. My vision for the next term is to make smart, long-term investments that will strengthen our community for the next generation. It’s about creating a more connected, convenient, and vibrant Easttown for every resident by tackling ambitious projects and solving nagging problems.

About
I am honored to have served as your Easttown Supervisor since 2019. My wife and I have proudly called Easttown our home since 1994, and in that time, we have watched our community grow and thrive. As an incumbent, I bring years of dedicated service and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our township.
Throughout my tenure, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that Easttown remains a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. I have focused on improving our infrastructure, promoting sustainable growth, and ensuring that our community remains safe and vibrant. My commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement has been unwavering.
As we look towards the future, I am excited about the possibilities for our township. I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where every resident's voice is heard and valued. My goal is to continue building on the progress we've made together, with a vision for a prosperous and inclusive Easttown.
Your support means everything to me, and I am eager to continue serving you as Easttown Supervisor. Together, we can achieve great things.
I’ve always believed that you’re never too old to learn and take on new challenges. It’s a philosophy that has guided my entire life. After earning my Bachelor's in Computer Science at Washington University in St. Louis and my Master's at Drexel, I built a career solving complex technical problems.
That same drive to learn and improve led me back to school, and I am now close to finishing my Doctorate in AI and Machine Learning from George Washington University. For me, this isn't just about technology; it’s about a commitment to always finding the best possible answers. It’s this passion for continuous improvement and evidence-based solutions that I want to bring to the Easttown Board of Supervisors.
