My name is Michael Wacey, and I am honored to have served as your Easttown Supervisor since 2019. My wife and I have proudly called Easttown our home since 1994, and in that time, we have watched our community grow and thrive. As an incumbent, I bring years of dedicated service and a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for our township.

Throughout my tenure, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that Easttown remains a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family. I have focused on improving our infrastructure, promoting sustainable growth, and ensuring that our community remains safe and vibrant. My commitment to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and community engagement has been unwavering.

As we look towards the future, I am excited about the possibilities for our township. I believe in fostering a collaborative environment where every resident's voice is heard and valued. My goal is to continue building on the progress we've made together, with a vision for a prosperous and inclusive Easttown.

Your support means everything to me, and I am eager to continue serving you as Easttown Supervisor. Together, we can achieve great things.

Accomplishments (2020 - Present)

  • Spearheaded the creation of the Easttown Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC): Recognizing the importance of environmental sustainability, I championed the establishment of the EAC, fostering resident engagement and expert advice on environmental matters. This initiative provides a dedicated platform for addressing our township's environmental challenges and opportunities.

  • Initiated and championed the successful launch of concerts in the park: Understanding the value of community engagement and public spaces, I took the lead in establishing our popular "Concerts in the Park" series. This initiative has enhanced the quality of life for residents, providing free and accessible entertainment for all ages.

  • Led the effort to replace the long-standing auditor with a new firm: Identifying the need for an independent and objective financial review, I advocated for the replacement of our long-standing auditor. This change brought fresh perspectives and scrutiny to our township's financial practices, ensuring greater transparency and accountability.

  • Championed the transition to energy-efficient LED streetlights: Recognizing the opportunity for cost savings and environmental responsibility, I was a driving force behind the replacement of outdated sodium vapor streetlights with modern LED technology. This upgrade is projected to save the township approximately [InsertEstimatedSavingsHere] per month while also improving visibility and safety for our residents.

  • Instrumental in updating the comprehensive 1992 Recreation, Environment, and Open Space Plan: Understanding the need for a modern vision for our township's vital resources, I played a key role in initiating and guiding the update of the 1992 Recreation, Environment, and Open Space Plan. This updated plan will serve as a roadmap for the preservation and enhancement of our community's natural assets for years to come.

  • Successfully implemented a consent agenda for Board of Supervisors (BOS) meetings: To improve the efficiency and focus of our BOS meetings, I advocated for and successfully implemented a consent agenda. This procedural improvement streamlines the approval of routine items, allowing the Board to dedicate more time to discussing complex and strategic issues.

  • Established the Board of Supervisors (BOS) Finance Committee: Recognizing the importance of proactive financial oversight, I led the effort to establish a dedicated BOS Finance Committee. This committee provides in-depth review and guidance on the township's financial matters, contributing to sound fiscal management.

  • Oversaw the standardization of Easttown Township email signatures: To ensure a consistent and professional image for the township, I championed the standardization of email signatures for all Easttown Township staff. This seemingly small change enhances communication and reinforces our township's identity.

  • Successfully transitioned the Easttown Township Police Department to an all full-time officer model: Recognizing the importance of consistent and professional law enforcement, I strongly supported and worked towards the transition of our Police Department to a fully full-time officer model. This ensures a dedicated and professional police force for the safety and security of our community.

The progress we've made in Easttown Township since 2020 is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our community, including my fellow members on the Board of Supervisors, our dedicated township staff, and engaged residents. I am proud to have played a role in these achievements and am committed to continuing this positive momentum for the benefit of all who call Easttown home.
